The Paris Couture shows this past week, left us with such fashion envy. There were a world-wind of trends that are both wearable and accessible. Read on for our top 5 picks on how to take your winter wardrobe through the rest of the season.
1. Neutral Coats
A neutral coat is the perfect piece to easily incorporate into your existing wardrobe. In Paris, we saw minimalistic oversized pieces that were cozy yet breathtaking. Think outside the traditional black, try one of Eileen Fisher effortlessly chic gray, crèmes, or tans from The Resort Shop. Hurry in, we here this weekend is going to be a cold one!
2. Cropped Denim
Cropped denim is not a spring-specific trend. Your favorite summer blues can easily transition to colder seasons. Pair with your favorite pump and a statement jacket. Look for a neutral wash with a boot-cut crop. A favorite of ours is AG Jean’s The Jodi Crop. Shop all of AG Jean’s styles right here at The Resort Shop.
3. Non-Traditional Layering
This is one of my favorite trends. It works for all seasons but these recent street-style shots brought new life to my inspiration. Take your favorite blouse and layer under a shorter sweater; don’t be afraid of choosing a patterned piece. When layering different pieces be sure to layer textiles as well; it adds such interest to a look and gives such dimension to your pieces. A moto jacket paired with a luxe White + Warren sweater is an easy go-to look. Another, easy look… pair a boxy graphic sweater with a chambray shirt, so thankful for Skinny Shirts! Shop blouses, sweaters, and all things leather at The Resort Shop.
4. Spring Colors are Not Just for Spring, Anymore
Don’t be afraid to rock pastel, neon, and white all yearlong. This is one southern faux pas that is okay to break. Pair with a fitted jacket, textured top, and fun printed handbag. Good news right, now you can wear your favorite Trina Turk brights all yearlong. Shop The Resort Shop to fill your closet with all the colors of the rainbow.
Week 5: It’s in the Details
An accessory can transcend your look from day-to-night or work-to-play. Take your grandmother’s brooch, your favorite thick waist belt, or silk neck-tie and add to a simply look for a pop of interest. You can throw a Linea Pelle leather belt on to most looks to help define my waist. Tip: Belt your outwear, it turns a coat into a look with one simply step. Shop The Resort Shop for all your classic, colorful, and funky accessory needs.
